TVA & Off-Campus Family Kit (Shelter-in-Place)
Residents in apartments should prepare for long-term sheltering (14 Days).
- Water: 14-day supply (1 gallon per person/day).
- Food: Canned goods, rice, shelf-stable foods (Manual can opener is essential).
- Cooking: Portable camping stove/butane burner (use outdoors only).
- Medical: Prescription meds, large first aid kit, infant supplies (diapers/formula).
- Sanitation: Trash bags, bucket, bleach, wet wipes.
- Communication: AM/FM Radio (solar or battery-powered) to listen to local emergency broadcasts if cell towers fail.
Student "Grab & Go" Kit (For Hale Residents)
Space is limited in the Hales. Focus on portability for vertical evacuation.
- Water: 1 gallon per day (minimum 3 days).
- Food: Non-perishable, ready-to-eat items (granola bars, spam, tuna packets, crackers).
- Documents: ID, Passport, and Insurance cards in a waterproof Ziploc bag.
- Electronics: Portable power bank and charging cables.
- Hygiene: Toothbrush, sanitizer, feminine products, toilet paper.
- Clothing: Extra set of dry clothes and sturdy shoes (slippers/flip-flops are not recommended for evacuation).
- Light: Flashlight with extra batteries (or a crank radio/light).
