• Description: Campus Safety and Risk management suggests an annual fire extinguisher training for all university employees. Students are welcomed to sign up for the training. Prior to attending the hands-on training, participants must complete the online training course: Fire Safety and Prevention 2.0.

  Participants need to email or upload proof of completion of the online training to byuhsafety@byuh.edu. Then apply for the hands-on training on the form below. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate once both the online and hands-on training has been completed.

Objectives

As a result of this training, participants will:

• Know the different types of fire extinguishers (A,B,C,D,K) and the types of fires they are used for.
• Understand how fire extinguishers operate.
• Demonstrate how to extinguish a fire safely.
• Understand when to use a fire extinguisher and when not to.
